Remove Yourself From People Searches

I’ve been wanting to remove information about myself from the internet for a while now. Most of it was inaccurate anyways plus, I was hoping it would help stop junk mail or spam calls from coming through. One of the services listed below that a lot of people seem to trust, said that I was already 29 but the rest of the information was correct. A couple of months ago in May I did start that process and I wrote this post up as a draft. I checked all of these websites on July 1st and the information about me was in fact removed. Whether it pops back up again or not any time soon is another question for another day.

What you’ll need for this is about 20 minutes of your day, and an email. Some of these pages were kind of hard to find so I just linked them directly so hopefully you can just go there directly from here. A lot of these ask for your email so they can verify it’s you. You’ll submit your removal request, they’ll send you a verification email, you click the link, and the form is now fully submitted. At least to the best of my understanding.

OSINT Framework to look yourself up as much as you can. From there you can start submitting requests to be removed from websites and lists.

  • That’s Them
  • White Pages
  • Spokeo – Find the link for your info, input your email address, they’ll send you a confirmation, click that link. There will be a confirmation at the bottom of the page that reads “We’ve received your request to remove this listing: (THE LINK YOU GAVE THEM). Please allow 2-3 days for all updates to be reflected on the site.”
  • True People Search – Go to the link, they’ll ask you to agree to their terms, then you’ll need to enter your email, search yourself, find yourself, scroll to the bottom of your listing of yourself, click “remove record” and you’ll get a page that reads “We have sent an email to (THE EMAIL YOU ENTERED) which contains a link to complete your removal request. You must click this link or your removal will not complete. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder. If you don’t get this email in the next hour please re-submit your removal. Thanks.” Once you click the link in your email you’ll be taken to a page that says “Record removal request accepted. Your record should be removed everywhere from this site within 72 hours.
  • Peekyou – Fill out the form to the best of your ability.
  • Instant Check Mate – This form was a little difficult to find, but fill this out, select your record, confirm your email.
  • Truth Finder  – Is very similar to Instant Check Mate
  • ZabaSearch – Same opt out process as TF and ICM
  • BeenVerified
  • Fast People Search – Fill out email, search yourself, click on your NAME NOT THE GREEN BUTTON TO VIEW REPORT. At the top click the red button to remove record. Verify email.

Remove your personal information from google searches  by going to this link. Click the topic, click report, and fill out the forms, all of them or any of them that may apply.

I highly recommend checking back in the time they said they’d remove you and see to it that it has been done. If you come across a site that isn’t listed here, try to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and look for “Suppress my information” or “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” if those don’t show up try to find a way to contact support.
